There were signs of damage to the hedge on investigation, but I can’t help thinking that this is one of the few events that we have looked at where the outcome was entirely positive. Jenny Randles, one of the investigators, thinks that this might have been an instance of “atmospheric plasma” or “earth lights” since the incident occurred on a “geologically faulted area”. It’s possible that electromagnetic fluctuation from the fault zone could have influenced the brains of the percipients, causing the feeling of well-being. It seems to me that before we can place this case in the explained file, we would need to know why the fault was under strain at this particular time.

Returning to the theme of UFOs moving cars, Australia is not the only place where this happens. In Secrets of the Mysterious Valley, Chris O’Brien tells of a witness who claimed to see multiple UFOs over his property. This individual even claimed that he and his mother had been able to call the craft closer using their minds. This witness told O’Brien the following interesting story:

One night, toward the end of May, a friend (who didn’t believe they had been seeing the craft) and I went out a couple miles north of the ranch to watch. It was around 9:00 to 9:30 p.m. We were sitting in his pickup truck, out in the middle of nowhere, when a strange bank of fog rolled in and surrounded us. We saw a light straight ahead shining out of the fog and a craft appeared and hovered in front of us, about two hundred yards away. I started to call it closer and it approached and just sat there about fifty feet away. Well, my friend kind of freaked out, grabbed his rifle from the rack and popped off a couple of shots at it. It went above us and somehow it lifted up the truck and put it in the bar ditch!
